The treatment
Prior to the treatment, an extensive consultation takes place in which we discuss your wishes, expectations and the risks of the treatment. The treatment itself is similar to a regular treatment, but smaller amounts of botox are injected into areas such as the forehead, crow's feet and frown lines.
The first results are visible after approximately 3 to 5 days and fully after 1 to 2 weeks. The effects of baby botox often last 2 to 3 months, slightly shorter than traditional botox treatments, because less botox is used. Due to the lower dosage, you get a subtle effect, where fine lines are reduced but natural facial movement is preserved. Regular repeat treatments are recommended to maintain the effect.
Safety
Botox treatments are generally very safe but may have some side effects such as bruising, swelling, redness or headache. Rare complications include facial asymmetry, infection and a drooping eyelid or eyebrow. In very rare cases, botox may spread to other parts of the body or an allergic reaction may occur.
Before a botox treatment, it is important to avoid blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin, for several days to minimise bruising. Always consult a physician before stopping such medication. After the treatment, we recommend not touching the treated area and not lying flat for the first 4 to 6 hours. This prevents the botox from migrating to surrounding muscles. It is also advised to avoid physical exertion for the first 24 hours, as well as sunbeds and saunas. Always follow the specific instructions from the physician for optimal results and recovery.
