Forehead wrinkles are the horizontal lines that develop from repeatedly raising the eyebrows. This is often an unconscious reaction when expressing emotions such as surprise or worry. Botox relaxes the frontalis muscle in the forehead, reducing these movements and making the wrinkles less visible.

The treatment
Prior to the treatment, an extensive consultation takes place in which we discuss your wishes, expectations and the risks of the treatment. During the treatment, multiple small injections are placed directly into the muscles of the forehead. The physician carefully determines the dosage to ensure that your forehead is not completely "frozen" but relaxed enough to minimise wrinkle formation.
The first results become visible within 3 to 5 days. Full results are achieved after approximately 10 days to 2 weeks, lasting an average of 3 to 4 months; this varies per person. The duration of botulinum toxin varies from person to person. After this period, muscle activity may return, causing the wrinkles to become visible again. Regular repeat treatments are recommended to maintain the effect.
Safety
Botox treatments are generally very safe but may have some side effects such as bruising, swelling or headache. Rare complications include facial asymmetry, a drooping eyebrow or a heavy feeling. In very rare cases, botox may spread to other parts of the body or an allergic reaction may occur.
Before a botox treatment, it is important to avoid blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin, for several days to minimise bruising. Always consult a physician before stopping such medication. After the treatment, we recommend not touching the treated area and not lying flat for the first 4 to 6 hours. This prevents the botox from migrating to surrounding muscles. It is also advised to avoid physical exertion for the first 24 hours, as well as sunbeds and saunas. Always follow the specific instructions from the physician for optimal results and recovery.

No, at Noveve we always work with the minimum dosage to achieve a natural result. You can still raise your eyebrows, but the wrinkles are visibly reduced.
You can resume your daily activities immediately after the treatment. No recovery period is needed. However, we advise avoiding intensive exercise for the first 24 hours.
