Hyaluronic acid
A lip filler treatment is aimed at improving the shape, symmetry and/or volume of the lips. By using hyaluronic acid fillers, a substance that occurs naturally in the body, the lips can be made fuller and the contour can be accentuated. We use the so-called Russian Technique, where the lips are filled from the top. This reduces the chance of a so-called "duck face" and allows the lips to be beautifully shaped.
Lip fillers can offer a solution if you find your lips too thin, if the contours of your lips have become less defined due to ageing, or if you are unhappy with the symmetry of your lips. This treatment is suitable for people who want to subtly enhance their lips without it looking unnatural.

Please note the swelling in the lips immediately after the treatment. After recovery, the lips will be smaller than shown in the photos. View the "after 2 weeks" tab for an example of a final result.
The treatment
Prior to the treatment, an extensive consultation takes place in which we discuss your wishes, expectations and the risks of the treatment. The physician will determine the appropriate amount of filler for the desired result. The treatment itself takes approximately 20-30 minutes. After applying a numbing cream, the physician places small injections in the lips. Attention is paid to volume, shape and symmetry.
The result is immediately visible after the treatment, although the lips may be slightly swollen in the first few days. After 1 to 2 weeks, the lips are fully healed and the final result is visible. The fillers remain visible for an average of 6 to 12 months, depending on factors such as your metabolism and lifestyle. Regular touch-ups are recommended for a lasting effect.
Safety
Lip fillers are generally very safe when performed by an experienced physician using high-quality products. Possible side effects include swelling, bruising or redness, which usually subside within a few days. Rare complications, such as asymmetry, infection or the development of small lumps, may occur but are often easily correctable. In rare cases, an allergic reaction or vascular occlusion may occur.
Before a treatment with filler, it is important to avoid blood-thinning medication, such as aspirin, for a few days beforehand to minimise bruising. Always consult a physician before stopping this type of medication. After the treatment, we recommend not touching or massaging the treated area. Additionally, it is advised to avoid physical exertion for the first 24 hours, as well as sunbeds and saunas. Always follow the physician's specific instructions for optimal results and recovery.

The results of lip fillers last on average 6 to 12 months, depending on your metabolism and lifestyle. After this period, you can repeat the treatment to maintain the results.
A numbing cream is applied beforehand to minimise discomfort. In addition, the filler itself contains a local anaesthetic. Most clients find the treatment very tolerable.
Yes, together with the physician you will discuss during the consultation how much volume will be added. At Noveve, we work with 0.5ml for a subtle result or 1.0ml for more volume. We always recommend building up gradually.
Immediately after the treatment, the lips will be swollen. This is normal and subsides within 1-2 weeks. The final result is visible after approximately 2 weeks.
Yes, hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with the enzyme hyaluronidase. This provides extra reassurance. It is a quick procedure with immediate results.
