Hyaluronic acid
What does the treatment involve?
Hyalase is a substance that dissolves hyaluronic acid fillers. By injecting Hyalase into the area where the unwanted filler is located, the hyaluronic acid is broken down and naturally removed by the body. This ensures that the treated area returns to its original form.
What can this treatment do for you?
There are various reasons to choose a treatment with Hyalase. Perhaps you are unhappy with the result of a previous filler treatment, there is asymmetry, migration (displacement) of fillers or lumps have developed. This treatment is suitable for any area where hyaluronic acid fillers have been placed, such as the lips, cheeks, nose or tear troughs. It is important to know that Hyalase only works on fillers based on hyaluronic acid and not on permanent or other types of fillers. Depending on the amount of filler that needs to be dissolved, multiple sessions may be required.
The treatment
What can you expect?
The treatment
Prior to the treatment, an extensive consultation takes place in which we discuss your wishes, expectations and the risks of the treatment. The medical doctor analyses your face and determines how much Hyalase is needed. After applying a numbing cream, the medical doctor places small injections with Hyalase in the area where the filler needs to be dissolved. During the treatment, a slight burning sensation may be experienced; this is normal and usually does not last long. The treatment takes approximately 15-30 minutes in total.
Results
The effect of Hyalase is quickly visible; the unwanted filler is usually mostly dissolved within 24 to 48 hours and the treated area has returned to its original form. If desired, a new filler treatment can be performed after two weeks to fill the area again with the desired shape and volume.
Safety
Safety & before and aftercare
Safety & risks
Possible side effects include swelling, bruising or redness, which usually subside within a few days. During the treatment, the product may feel stinging. In rare cases, an infection, allergic reaction or vascular occlusion may occur. It is important to be aware that Hyalase can also break down a small amount of the natural hyaluronic acid in your skin, which may cause temporary volume reduction. However, this usually resolves on its own over time.
Before and aftercare
Before a treatment with Hyalase, it is important to avoid blood-thinning medication, such as aspirin, for a few days beforehand to minimise bruising. Always consult a medical doctor before stopping this type of medication. After the treatment, we recommend not touching or massaging the treated area. Additionally, it is advised to avoid physical exertion for the first 24 hours, as well as sunbeds and saunas. Always follow the medical doctor's specific instructions for optimal results and recovery.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How does dissolving filler work?
When dissolving filler, the enzyme hyaluronidase is injected at the site of the filler. This enzyme accelerates the breakdown of hyaluronic acid, causing the filler to disappear within 24-48 hours.
Can every filler be dissolved?
Only fillers based on hyaluronic acid can be dissolved. Permanent fillers or fillers based on other substances cannot be treated with hyaluronidase. At Noveve, we exclusively use hyaluronic acid fillers.
Is dissolving filler painful?
The treatment is comparable to having filler placed. Anaesthesia can be applied to minimise discomfort. Most clients find it very tolerable.
Can I have filler placed again after dissolving?
Yes, after dissolving it is possible to have filler placed again. We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks so that the treated area has fully recovered.
